The Wonderful Company is looking for an Auditor to conduct wage and hour audits of our sites and facilities including manufacturing, packing houses, farms, nurseries, and offices. As part of our premier, in-house Legal Team, you will partner with the Wonderful businesses including POM Wonderful, Halos Citrus, Wonderful Pistachios, JUSTIN Wine and Wonderful Orchards in the implementation of audit programs, collection of information and analysis of data. You will play a crucial role in helping the company maintain compliance with the ever-changing wage & hour landscape and create solutions to novel problems in varying settings for the company's workforce of over 10,000. The role will give you the opportunity to work under minimal supervision and as part of a team of experts in labor compliance, all with the support of a multi-billion-dollar organization.

Job Description

The Wonderful Way:

Work closely with our business units to coordinate and conduct regularly scheduled, comprehensive audits to ensure compliance with federal, state and local wage and hour laws
Travel to different facilities and sites to perform in-depth wage and hour audits including observing workers, reviewing and analyzing relevant written materials, and interviewing managers and supervisors to assess wage and hour practices and compliance
Complete reports on audit findings in a timely manner, which may include explanation of compliant and non-compliant practices, examples and documented evidence, and identification of novel or unique issues
Communicate and discuss audit results with business managers, compliance managers, the legal department and HR in a concise and comprehensive manner, including promptly escalating significant findings to the compliance and legal departments prior to audit completion report as necessary
Stay up to date on wage and hour developments, trends and changes in laws that affect the businesses, including attending relevant and appropriate trainings and seminars
Handle additional duties and special projects to ensure the business is operating efficiently and in compliance with all current regulations

Qualifications

The Wonderful You:

Must have at least three to five years of relevant wage and hour audit experience
Experience as a labor or wage & hour auditor, human resources or other auditing experience
Possess solid understanding of federal, state, and local wage and hour laws, including compliant wage statements, off-the-clock work, overtime, and meal and rest breaks
Ability to work very early morning hours and travel throughout California, primarily within the Central Valley and Los Angeles, up to 80% of time, majority of travel will be day trips and will not require overnight stays with very occasional overnight trips beyond California
Experience with farm labor contractors, staffing agencies, piece-rate compensation temporary labor and agriculture is a plus
Demonstrated superior problem solving and analytical skills; and have the ability to gather detailed information and present results accurately.
Fluency in written and spoken English, Spanish a plus, with strong presentation and detailed reporting skills
Must have a clean driving record, possess a valid driver's license and minimum required insurance.
COVID vaccination will be required for this position unless candidate has a legally valid exemption.
