Your role: The Key Account Manager participates in the creation of, and facilitates the implementation of, strategic and tactical sales and marketing strategies. The primary focus is to ensure and enhance a high level of commitment and loyalty from existing clients and to develop long term and committed relationships with new or potential clients with focus on maximum growth and profitability and in accordance with the business plan. * Proactively identify and capture business opportunities in co-operation with the Business Development Manager, and other internal and external stakeholders, in accordance with the business plan and the strategic and financial goals of the company within a jurisdiction of the assigned territory and other areas as assigned by the Business Development Manager. * Act as liaison and advisor between all internal stakeholders and external stakeholders in the territory. Design and conduct a comprehensive direct sales activities plan with focus on revenue growth, market share growth, and profit growth. This activities plan will be conducted with stakeholders or potential stakeholders in all levels of the supply chain. * Implement and monitor an effective personal planning and execution strategy with focus on adherence to achieving all goals in a timely and effective manner. Monitor the status and progress of the territory business plan to ensure timelines for key goals are met. Identify instances where adjustments may need to be made to the business plan in order to achieve key goals. Promptly communicate these situations to all relevant stakeholders and provide comprehensive suggestions for corrective action. * Support corporate culture growth and development by working with management, employees and outside stakeholders in a supportive, honest and open manner. Strictly adhere to all corporate directives and policies in regard to ethical behavior and integrity. Use virtue always and show no bias. * Prepare an annual business plan with specific focus on attainable goals, strategies, tactics, activities, costs, revenue growth, margin growth and how they impact ROI. Conduct planning with a focus on effective inter- discipline co-ordination and adherence to timelines. This will be done in collaboration with the Business Development Manager and representatives from Marketing, R&D and Technical Science. * Clearly identify and take ownership for all sales activities in the business plan. Take ownership for co-ordination and support of activities and timelines of other stakeholders in the business plan. Assume an appropriate level of responsibility for sales, gross profit, and net profit results in the territory. * Perform and/or support administrative duties associated with the position to operate the territory in a service-oriented manner. This includes all relevant administrative functions and assuming a lead role in the accurate and timely execution of administrative and logistical activities in strict accordance to the needs of the customer. * Support the company s vision and policies regarding Health & Safety, Corporate Culture, and Environmental Management by displaying the appropriate behaviors and leadership towards meeting the company s objectives in these areas. Qualifications/Abilities: * Undergraduate degree in agricultural studies, plant pathology or similar and/or equivalent experience in Key Accounts Management/Agronomic Business Development. * Minimum 5+ years Ag Chemical Sales experience * PCA or CCA license in good standing * Ability to speak, read, write English * Knowledge of agricultural markets and issues in the territory is required. * Knowledge of business culture in the territory is required. * Computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets and presentations are required.
