Job Description:
Intensive Care Unit Nurse Manager ICU nurse managers are
responsible for developing and implementing policies and
procedures, managing staffing levels, and ensuring that the unit
meets regulatory standards and guidelines. They also collaborate
with physicians, other healthcare providers, and hospital
administrators to coordinate patient care, manage resources, and
maintain effective communication within the unit. In addition to
administrative duties, ICU nurse managers also provide clinical
leadership and support to the nursing staff. They mentor and train
nurses, provide guidance and direction on patient care issues, and
ensure that nurses have the resources and support they need to
provide safe and effective care to patients. Overall, the role of
an ICU nurse manager is crucial in ensuring that critically ill
patients receive the highest quality of care while also managing
the day-to-day operations of the ICU unit. Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the ICU department
Ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care Develop and
implement policies and procedures for the ICU department
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to improve patient
outcomes Conduct performance evaluations for ICU staff and provide
leadership and mentorship Participate in budget preparation and
management Stay current with advances in critical care nursing and
implement new practices as appropriate Requirements: Bachelor's
degree in Nursing and a valid California RN license Minimum of 5
years of ICU nursing experience, with at least 2 years in a
leadership role Strong knowledge of critical care nursing
practices, policies, and procedures Excellent leadership and
interpersonal skills Ability to effectively communicate and
collaborate with interdisciplinary teams Strong organizational and
problem-solving skills Active California RN license in good
standing with the California Board of Nursing Note: The license
