Summary: Joyride is seeking an Assistant Warehouse Manager for the unique opportunity to join our inaugural team launching our state-of-the-art craft cold brew production facility in Bakersfield, CA. This position will execute and oversee the efficient receipt, storage, and preparation of craft products for cold-chain distribution to our internal and outside distributor centers and support the Plant Manager as s/he launches and scales the plant. The Assistant Warehouse Manager will be directly performing all warehousing duties at launch and overtime as the team grows, supervise and develop warehousing team members to ensure smooth supply chain operations. In the spirit of Joyride's Hold Every Bar High and Innovate Big and Small core values, the Assistant Warehouse Manager also will be responsible for plant maintenance and evaluating the operation for potential efficiency gains.Ideal Candidate The ideal Assistant Warehouse Manager is dependable, organized, and an effective communicator. S/he is a team player not afraid to get their hands dirty and understands the need for communication within and outside the company to ensure smooth supply chain operations. The ideal candidate is calm under pressure, fosters a culture of safety, and is able to keep meticulous records and maintain high levels of compliance with all policies and procedures, understanding the importance of food safety S/he also is flexible and able to adjust to seasonal changes in demand and looks for opportunities to make tweaks to the supply chain process with Joyride's continuous improvement mentality. S/he also has sound judgment and knows how to effectively delegate and keep his/her team engaged, productive, and hitting their Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) as the facility grows. What You'll Do:

  • Train, supervise, and coach the warehousing team in the execution of their tasks; communicate job expectations and enforce policies and procedures
    • Manage stock levels of products and supplies to minimize waste and ensure availability through physical inventories and inventory management
    • Maintain clean, well organized fleet and well stocked warehouse, ensuring all OSHA and DOT standards and requirements are met
    • Participate in weekly management and lead warehousing team meetings, identifying opportunities for improvement, points of friction, and working with other supervisors and departments to resolve them
    • Contribute ideas for efficiencies or best practices to improve warehousing KPIs
    • Assist in recruiting requisitions and hiring, training, scheduling, and disciplining team members; communicate job expectations; review job contributions; and enforce policies and procedures
    • Working with the Plant Manager to establish and track goals and KPIs for the warehousing team and the warehousing team members
    • Cross-train and learn production responsibilities and SOPs so can provide back-up coverage when needed
    • Promptly escalate necessary issues, including food safety and workplace safety, to the Plant Manager
    • Any other tasks which may be assigned, or which may be necessary to effective operationsEnsure smooth operations by overseeing receiving, order preparation and returned product What's Required:
      • High school degree and/or GED equivalent required
      • 3-5 years in warehousing operations and inventory management; food manufacturing environment experience preferred
      • Prior training experience; prior supervisory or management experience preferred
      • Required or obtained within 90 days of hire: Forklift Operations Certified, Food Safety Handler's License or Certificate, OSHA 10-hour Certified, First Aid and CPR Certified
      • Strong computer skills including Google Documents, Sheets (Excel), and ERP systems
      • Must be able to be on his/her feet for entire shift and ability to regularly lift, push, or pull up to 65 pounds
      • A valid driver's license and a clean driving record
