Responsibilities:
Position Summary:Assist the registered nurse in direct patient
care. Provides ongoing follow-up assessment and intervention under
the supervision of the registered nurse. Provides basic patient
care as needed. Fosters a collaborative working relationship within
and outside of the department. Provides patient and family
education as appropriate.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:CA LVNBLS (AHA required)IV certification
(required in 90 days)Skills:Ability to follow regulations of the
Hospital pertaining to job performance, behavior and patient care.
Ability to be flexible in meeting the need of varying situations.
Ability to comply with Mercy Hospital's standards of personal
hygiene, grooming and uniform dress. Ability to maintain continuing
education requirements for licensure. CA LVN License with IV
certification. CPRPreferred:Ability to demonstrate respect for
people in ethical and courteous behavior to patients, patient
relatives, visitors and fellow employees. Ability to accept
supervision and guidance and work cooperatively with others.Prefer
experience from ED or Urgent Care. 1-2 years of direct patient care
preferred. EKG Technician Competency, IV Skills and phlebotomy
skills
