Job Description:
Job Title: Nuclear Medicine TechnicianResponsible for performing
all Nuclear Medicine procedures in a timely manner. Performs
procedures according to physician's orders in the patient's chart
or per prescription on outpatients. As a member of the care team,
the Nuclear Medicine Technologist is responsible for working
collaboratively with other members to assure the safe and accurate
delivery of patient care. Assumes, under the direction of the
Laboratory, responsibility for patient specimen testing, quality
control, quality improvement, and equipment
maintenance.Qualifications/Experience:Education: Graduate from an
accredited nuclear medicine program.Licensure/Certification:
Current American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT)
nuclear medicine and /or NuclearMedicine TechnologistCertification
Board (NMTCB) certification. Current BLS certification required.
ACLS certification also preferred.At least 1 year of experience as
a Nuclear Medicine Technologist preferred.Essential
Functions:Performs nuclear medicine procedures in a timely manner;
documents required information and communicates to primary
physician and direct care staff pertinent informationPerforms
stress testing procedures in a timely manner under the direction of
a physician: operates the treadmill and monitor and prepares
findings for physician interpretation.Coordinates and assists in
the care of patients assigned, in collaboration with other nuclear
medicine technologists, physicians, nurses and health
staffEvaluates patient condition in order to adequately perform
nuclear medicine examsInforms and explains procedure to be
performed to patients, and what is expected in terms of his/her
cooperationProvides comprehensive direct patient care and assures a
safe and comforting environmentConsults with other staff as
necessary to meet the needs of the patient and familyAssures that
the necessary clinical equipment and supplies are available and are
safely utilizedPossesses the knowledge of growth and development of
patients across the life span (neonatal, pediatric, adolescent,
adult and geriatric). Performs Point of Care procedures in a timely
manner according to established policy and procedure. Documents
required information and complies with all Point of Care quality
