nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in
Bakersfield, California. Job Description & Requirements -
Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit - Discipline: RN - Start Date:
11/17/2025 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12
hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel - Location: Bakersfield, CA
93301 - Trauma Level: Level II Trauma Center - Unit: ICU / ICU-CV
Recovery - Beds: 24 (capacity up to 32) - Ratios: 1:1 or 1:2 -
Setting: Acute care, critical care, and cardiac recovery
Certifications Required - BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (AHA) - Active
California RN license - IABP, CRRT, and ICP skills not required but
preferred Experience / Skill Requirements - No first-time travelers
accepted - Must pass EKG interpretation test (advanced version for
ICU/ED RNs) during orientation - Preferred experience: Neuro,
cardiac, or critical care (CABG, Impella, TAVR, vascular, neuro
cases) - Vents: Yes – managed by RT - Medications: All cardiac and
vasoactive drips, conscious sedation - Intensivist: On-site 7a–5p;
on-call after hours - Pharmacy: 24/7; dedicated ICU pharmacist (12
hrs M–F, 6 hrs weekends) - RT: 24/7
