Overview

PURPOSE:

The FP&A team is looking for a Financial Analyst to support the preparation of accurate, timely and relevant financial reporting, planning and analysis for the Farming division. Position plays a critical role in the preparation of the long-range financial plans, forecasts and budgets, including report creation and business process development.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Develop, enhance, update and/or maintain financial models; perform monthly and quarterly variance analysis
  • Creation of detailed reports and dashboards for senior leadership that track and analyze department, division, commodity, and regional data.
  • Proactively identify issues, opportunities, and provide value-added analysis to improve business performance and processes
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders, accounting and finance team members to improve the effectiveness of the financial planning process, assumptions, and results
  • Contribute to annual budget process and periodically update financial forecast with business leaders
  • Analyze current growing and harvesting programs and summarize key insights and actions for future program improvement
  • Ensure the confidentiality of Grimmway's financial and proprietary information
  • Performs other duties and projects as assigned by supervisor

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to remain in a stationary position throughout much of the working day. Ability to occasionally move about inside the office. Ability to operate a computer and other office productivity equipment.

Additional Info

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • An undergraduate/graduate degree in Business, Ag Business, Finance, Accounting or a related field required
  • 2-4 years of finance or accounting related work experience required
  • Public accounting experience at a Big 4 or mid-tier firm is a plus
  • Must possess a problem-solving mentality, be detail-oriented, proactive, organized, have strong analytical skills and a commitment to accuracy
  • Experience in Microsoft Suite, including Power Pivot, and BI tools (Power BI, Tableau a plus)
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and work well in a team environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work across multiple departments including farming, accounting, finance and operations
  • Flexible and adaptable to change
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
  • Remote work not available for this position.
  • Must have a valid driver's license with a clean DMV driving record
  • Must pass drug/alcohol screen and background check
