SUMMARY AND OVERALL OBJECTIVE- Range Lead is responsible for compliance and safety rules within the range, as well as being responsible for any range employees. The Range Lead follows the premise of being the business and cultural leader of the range team, responsible for achieving sales goals, customer satisfaction, and profitability growth as well as understanding, practicing, and being a strong proponent of the Training Center---s brand and the company culture. The Range Lead is a retail professional role model in attitude and appearance skilled in the art of communication and customer service, who possess the ability to teach these skills to the team and ultimately lead by example. QUALIFICATIONS INTERNAL CANDIDATES WILL BE CONSIDERED FIRST High school graduate (or GED) required, college graduate or some college preferred Fluent in English Must have at least 2 years of prior retail and sales experience in a supervisory or managerial role Knowledge about Hunting, or Shooting sports is preferred Legally eligible to work in a firearms environment Must be 18 years or older Customer service experience required Certificate of Eligibility Required Must be able to multi-task and work in a face paced environment Blood Level Testing will be required ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Primary concern is safety. Secondary concern is overseeing range maintenance. Needs to have a clear understanding of firearm safety. Would be a liaison to store management and maintenance personnel. Must be able to effectively convey ideas or concerns to management, and clearly articulate daily range needs/duties to sales staff. Must be able to stay calm and be professional when dealing with client---s safety violations. Must be able to discretely and effectively describe the client---s issue and offer a corrective solution without being rude or condescending. Must report all safety concerns and violations to management. Work with management to schedule extra maintenance/repairs in a timely manner such as restringing a lane, repairing target hangers, dismantling and breaking lead from decelerator traps, resetting electronic target carriers, etc. Will conduct a weekly inventory of all range related equipment including all PPE, cardboard backers, spray paint, tape, nylon line, steel cable, target hangers, etc. and inform management of low quantities with enough time to receive resupplies without running out. Oversee maintenance of range rental firearms. On the job training of sales staff stationed at the range counter how to properly field strip, clean, lube and reassemble rental firearms. Conduct weekly inventory of targets and ammunition available on the range and report to management low stock items. Responsible for the housekeeping/upkeep and merchandising of the range, range counters and surrounding retail area. Will conduct a daily walk through of the range and ensure all aspects are operating including lights, HVAC and target retrieval systems. Any problems will be reported to management immediately. On the job train sales staff stationed at the range what to look for regarding firearm safety and violations and how to correct clients in a safe and effective manner. Will be able to conduct price overrides to convert SAS memberships to TTC memberships. Will be a presence on the range by occasionally sweeping brass, removing garbage and debris from vacant shooting points and interact with range clients during these tasks. Will mentor sales staff to be safety conscious and inform management of sales staff that are not catching on. Responsible for range maintenance and cleanliness Will be available to conduct month end firearm audits. Will be well versed in all aspects of the range POS and related equipment, i.e. TTC membership card printer, TTC tablet and POS. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Responsible for loading/unloading trucks, lifting up to 50 pounds without assistance Must be able to use both hands when handling a firearm Must be able to use a computer proficiently and grasp instruction to new software programs Must be able to stand, sit, bend and lift throughout the course of a scheduled shift TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS Occasional travel is required (approximately 20% of the time-participating in events, training seminars, etc) HOURS Hours-at least 45 hours per week are required, varied-OT may be required Requests for time off may or may not be granted during black-out periods
