a 194-bed facility located in downtown Bakersfield. Mercy Hospital
Southwest is a 78-bed facility and the only hospital located in the

**Responsibilities**
**Position Summary:**
Responsible for cleaning processing assembly and distribution of
supplies and equipment to multiple hospital departments. Maintains
inventory control and supply ordering. Maintains the Central
Service work environment and supplies within accepted practices.
Candidate will prepare various instrumentation and equipment for
patient care perform inventory control and utilize an inventory
software system.
**Qualifications**
**Minimum Requirements:**
+ Education or experience in Central Service and six months of
experience in sterile processing
+ Ability to identify clean and prepare surgical instrumentation
intubation equipment and knowledge of sterilization protocols
+ HSD/GED or 2 years equivalent work experience
+ Attention to detail is a must
+ Knowledge of surgical instrumentation
+ Knowledge of medical terminology helpful
+ Must be able to work effectively with multiple departments
+ Must have the ability to read write and speak English and
understand numerical system
**Preferred:**
+ CST
*Hires after 09/13/2017 must acquire their Central Processing Tech
Certification within 6 mo of hire.
