As in you are familiar with all those laws and regulations and safety rules that govern pesticide application and proper chemical storage? And that you are the proud bearer of a Class-A CDL with Hazmat and tank vehicle endorsements and have more than a little experience with basic measurements and calculations for calibration of gallons per acre, and acres per tank. That means proper calculating of product and carrier quantities and proper mixing and application of plant protection and/or fertilizer products using various types of application equipment.?Absolute Musts:Be familiar with all laws and regulations governing pesticide applicationHaving a commercial driver?s license with endorsements for Haz-Mat and Tank vehicles is a plusComprehend basic measurements and calculations for calibration (gallons per acre, and acres per tank)Have a working knowledge of all application equipmentBe able to accurately locate the application sitePossess or obtain the Qualified Applicator's Certification license and attend all required safety training meetingsComplete bi-annual medical examsParticipate in a DOT random selection for drug and alcohol testingParticipate in a 30-day blood test for Cholinesterase MonitoringReady to work odd hours during peak season (6-7 days, 10-14 hours, depending upon crew assignment, may be day or night)Ready to travel to other branches, meeting locations, or customer farms?Who Fits Well in this Position?You?ll do well at WE if you bring:Good interpersonal skills ? we want you to get along with other employees and our grower customersStrong time management skills with the ability to set prioritiesA commitment to positive communication with your supervisor and growersSolid written and verbal communication skillsAbility to be detail-oriented with a wide range of responsibilitiesAn ability to work with minimum supervisionA clean DMV record?Any Other Details about the Job?Here are the particulars.Proper application of fertilizer and plant protection productsProcess work orders against scheduled dates and timeComply with all applicable laws and regulations at all timesFollow all Wilbur-Ellis Company safety rulesLift containers weighing up to 80 lbsCoordinate the use of the equipment and make sure that it is returned in good working conditionPerform a pre-trip inspection before leaving the yardArrive at the correct job site without undue delayProperly complete necessary paperwork (application records, shipping papers, driver daily report, and all info on work orders)Properly handle and store all chemical containersEnsure that equipment is repaired or serviced to avoid delays in equipment availabilityParticipate in blood testing and/or alcohol testing when scheduledPerform necessary maintenance and repair on equipmentAssist as needed around the plant?And Pay and Benefits?In compliance with all states and cities that require transparency of pay, the base compensation for this position ranges from $23.65 - $28.41 per hour.?
