Job DescriptionFull-Time Site Controls SpecialistThis role is
responsible for supporting a variety of tasks related to supporting
the Kern facility with support for all equipment. Cross functional
partnership and support with, but not limited to: Headquarters,
Packaging, Processing and Warehouse. Will be required to provide
expert PLC programming, technical skills, and champion new control
technologies. Support the training of other personnel in the
function of automated systems.--- Provide engineering and technical
support in the areas of controls (electronic/electrical) to the
plant in meeting safety, product quality, maintenance, service to
sales and productivity objectives.--- Develop and execute
stand-alone technical training programs that will support
technologies unique to the plant.--- Develop and maintain the
technical expertise of the Plant at a level that minimizes the need
to acquire out of plant support.--- Lead efforts at seeking-out and
obtaining new technologies that can enhance the overall performance
of the plant.--- Assist Corporate Headquarters and outside support
activities on any engineering issues dealing with controls
functions.--- Maintain PLC documentation and electrical data
bases.--- Maintain all computer hardware and software, including
programming changes and revisions, associated with PLC systems.---
Provide technical support and training to mechanics including
mechanical, and electrical troubleshooting.--- Perform all assigned
work orders as scheduled and complete all associated paperwork.---
Anticipate supply needs for items that are not in stock and submit
requisitions accurately and timely.--- Upgrade personal technical
abilities to match the needs of the plant.--- Train and supervise
personnel who may be assigned as assistants. Provide formal
training as needed.--- Execute projects from the plant CapEx
project list.Qualifications:Three to five years of experience in a
similar environment (degrees may account for some
experience).Experience with the programming of Drives, PLCs, and
HMI.Detail oriented and highly organized.Able to work in a team
environment and show leadership in driving repairs.Experience must
include high level of mechanical & electrical aptitude.Ability to
read schematics and diagrams.Effective written and verbal
communication.Willingness to work and learn all areas of the
facility and train others.Exhibit ownership in all areas
assigned.Preferred Knowledge Areas:PLCs including but not limited
to AB ControlLogix, CompactLogix, MicroLogix, PLC5PLC I/O - R I/O,
1756 I/O, 1768 I/O, 1769 I/O, Point/Flex/Block I/O, 1742
interfacesABNetworks - R I/O, DeviceNet, Ethernet/IP,
ControlNetInstallation and setup of HMI hardware and
Thinclients.Programming of HMI software - AB Panelview ViewME,
Wonderware ArchestrAInstallation of drives including AB PF series
4,40,525,70,700,725,735,755Installation and troubleshooting of
Motor Start buckets and wiringMotors including AC and
DCInstrumentation such as Level, Pressure, Temperature, Flow,
DistanceLow voltage controls - 24vac, 24vdc, 4-20mAHistorians, SQL,
and other databasesSwitches, routers, CAT6, 802.11a/b/gSite
Controls Specialist's hours of work vary by assigned location. This
