Alliance (RMA) is a Christian non-profit organization that has been
serving the less fortunate in Southern California through emergency
and long-term rehabilitation services since 1972. RMA partners with
local churches to meet the spiritual needs of the people we serve.
The Rescue Mission Alliance, Central Coast (RMACC)) is a vital part
of RMA that offers three phased Men’s and Women’s Life Recovery
programs. Summary The Case Manager works with the Program Manager
to ensure Residents of the Life Recovery Program (LRP) can
accomplish prescribed goals that result in self-sufficient and
sustainable life habits free from homelessness, addiction and
poverty. The case manager is responsible for assigning and managing
the goals required to complete the Life Recovery Program, as well
as customizing relevant goals that will help assigned Program
Residents achieve health and self-sufficiency. The case manager is
responsible for managing all aspects of recruitment for the Life
Recovery Program. The case manager is also responsible for managing
the programs for all Orientation Residents in the Life Recovery
Program. Case manager will also assist Program Manager in other
ways that help the Life Recovery Program run successfully. The
position reports to the Women’s LRP Program Manager of RMACC. It is
a regular full-time, non-exempt position located in Santa Maria,
CA. Compensation is commensurate with skills and experience. Their
position is eligible for overtime and benefits according to
applicable guidelines. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Program Recruitment : With direction from the Program Manager
recruit women who would be a good fit for Life Recovery Program.
Maintain professional communication and administrative habits RMACC
partners to recruit women whose needs fit the services offered at
RMACC. Participate in Continuums of Care in the area as is helpful.
Aim to not only recruit women to program but also refer those whose
needs are outside of our scope of work to other agencies who can
help them. Attend outreach events at RMACC and other agencies as
available to form relationships w/ potential residents. Orientation
Chaplain and other program responsibilities: Be the point of
contact for all LRP residents in Orientation. Ensure they become
immersed well in RMACC culture and rhythms. Communicate
expectations at Mission, Thrift, Church and Outreach. Ensure
Residents complete necessary goals to move to Phase 1. Ensure all
new residents complete base assessments before progressing through
program. Work with Program Manager to transition phased residents
to her case load. Maintain strong case notes of resident progress
in Mission Tracker. Keep in mind it is helpful to Program Manager,
but also to future RMACC staff if the resident returns later in
life. Manage drug testing for all Residents, ensure all enrolled
residents comply w/ RMACC policy. Log in Mission Tracker. Assist
Program Manager with reporting all resources provided to residents
in Mission tracker. Ensure all intaked residents’ belongings are
thoroughly searched and laundered. Ensure all resident medications
are stored and logged appropriately at intake. Ensure when
residents have access to their meds is logged properly. Other
Responsibilities Conduct and log thorough room inspections weekly
Assist Program Manager with driving residents to appointments
Arrange recreational day trips for residents Assist Outreach
Coordinator and Operations Coordinator with outreach activities
when necessary. Supervisory Responsibilities There are no
staff-supervisory responsibilities for this position. CM does
supervise LRP residents, TLP residents, and volunteers.
Qualifications 1-3 years related experience Valid California
Driver’s license and insurable under RMA’s plan. Skills Very strong
administrative skills Comfort with computers and software,
especially client databases Excellent written and oral
communication skills Self-motivated- Focused- able to remember
weekly tasks without being reminded by supervisor, balance
completion of day to day tasks while still completing longer-term
projects Team player recognizing that in a mission one must wear
many hats Has self-care practices in place to survive in
emotionally challenging work environment Software Proficiency with
Office Suite applications Able to learn and become expert in
program database (will train) Physical Demands Must be able to sit
for long periods, bend and lean over file drawers Ability to lift
up to 40 lbs. Work Environment This position will function to a
large degree in a residential program environment. As a part of
normal duties this position will be in facilities with an at-risk
population where errant behavior and disease risk may be present.
Appropriate safety considerations will be required to avoid illness
or injury.
